Four Mystery Marvel Studios Movies Set For Release In 2024

Yesterday, Disney announced four new release dates for untitled Marvel Studios feature films in 2024. Those spots being etched-out for February, May, July, and November.

There are now seven release dates on the schedule for unnamed projects that will likely be named at the next big Marvel Studios presentation something that is likely around the corner.

However, we have an idea what at least four of those options might be with Jon Watts’ Fantastic Four reboot, Bassam Tariq’s Blade reboot, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3, and Anthony Mackie’s Captain America 4 at various stages of development.

Below is a rundown of the current Marvel Studios schedule for films between 2021 to 2024.

  • ETERNALS – November 5, 2021
  • SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME – December 17, 2021
  • DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS – March 25, 2021
  • THOR: LOVE & THUNDER – May 6, 2022
  • BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER – July 8, 2022
  • THE MARVELS – November 11, 2022
  • ANT-MAN & THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA – February 17, 2023
  • GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 – May 5, 2023
  • TBA – July 28, 2023
  • TBA – October 6, 2023
  • TBA – November 10, 2023
  • TBA – February 16, 2024
  • TBA – May 3, 2024
  • TBA – July 26, 2024
  • TBA – November 8, 2024
  • FANTASTIC FOUR (DIRECTOR JON WATTS) – TBA
  • BLADE (DIRECTOR BASSAM TARIQ) – TBA
  • DEADPOOL 3 – TBA
  • CAPTAIN AMERICA 4 – TBA
  • X-MEN – TBA

We could easily theorize that some other options might include their X-Men reboot, Shang-Chi 2, Eternals 2, Black Widow 2 (focusing on Yelena Belova), Avengers 5, Secret Wars, Spider-Man 4 (if Sony and Disney can expand their deal), Black Panther 3, Ant-Man 4, Doctor Strange 3, Thor 5, and Young Avengers.

Some other projects I’d love to see be considered for the film side such as Squadron Supreme, Captain Carter, Black Knight, The Invaders, Nova, Adam Warlock, Alpha Flight, Agents of Atlas, Namor (if they’re able to make it), Ka-Zar, Killraven, and Red Wolf.

As mentioned above, we’re likely on the cusp of a new Marvel Studios presentation that will likely give us an idea of what else is coming to both Disney+ (Disney+ Day in November) and the big screen in the future.

‘Ironheart’: Marvel Studios Hires ‘Snowpiercer’s Chinaka Hodge As Head Writer & Will Have A 6-Episode Run On Disney+

Marvel Studios has made a huge impact with their first two entries in the MCU’s live-action series at Disney+ as both WandaVision and Falcon & Winter Soldier seemed to pull-in an impressive amount of eyeballs. Either leading fans to become delighted with Kathyn Hahn’s wonderfully charismatic Agnes aka Agatha Harkness or in the case of John Walker root against him.

The studio has a steady stream of new shows coming soon with Loki, Ms. Marvel, and Hawkeye on deck for release in 2021. But more are in various stages of development including the series Ironheart that will have Dominique Thorne set in the role of Riri Williams, a child genius that is able to build her own armor suit similar to Tony Stark’s Iron Man.

Variety is reporting that Marvel has hired Chinaka Hodge as the head writer of Ironheart, after previously working as a staff writer on the TNT series Snowpiercer, a prequel to the film that was directed by Parasite’s Bong Joon-ho and based on a French graphic novel (first published in 1982) created by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette.

The Hollywood Reporter adding that Ironheart will land 6-episodes just like Falcon & Winter Soldier and that the studio hopes to get the writer’s room running by next month.

Thorne’s Riri Williams could very well have a connection to the upcoming series Armor Wars due to the technology involved with building any armor. Armor Wars sees Don Cheadle’s War Machine tracking down stolen Stark-tech that hits the black market, potentially because of Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer and the Power Broker. There has been fan speculation that Williams could end up joining a growing roster of the Young Avengers, although, Marvel hasn’t announced those plans officially.

Other shows coming in 2022 and beyond includes She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Moon Knight, a series from Ryan Coogler connected to Wakanda, and a Hawkeye spinoff focused on the new MCU character Echo.

New Rumor Claims Sony & Marvel May Extend ‘Spider-Man’ Deal – Could Marvel Get Involved With ‘Spider-Woman’ & ‘Kraven The Hunter’ Too?

You might remember that Marvel Studios almost lost access to Spider-Man not too long ago and that Spider-Man 3 would have been strictly a Sony Pictures affair with Marvel sitting on the sidelines as their initial deal had expired. Luckily, Tom Holland was able to convince both Sony’s Tom Rothman and Disney’s Bob Iger to see eye-to-eye hatching a new smaller deal that would allow Marvel to make Spider-Man 3 and Holland to appear in one more MCU film.

A new rumor coming from The Disinsider Show (via The Direct) suggests that that two-picture deal has seemingly been extended, however, they weren’t forthcoming with details as to how many films are involved along with if Marvel Studios would be getting involved with any of the upcoming Sony Pictures projects like Kraven The Hunter.

While this is very likely given that Marvel would most likely want access to various Sony characters in the future (Miles Morales feels like a no-brainer), as with most rumors take with a pinch of salt. There are a couple of things that might have telegraphed this deal being in the works.

Last week, Kevin Feige confirmed that Spider-Man 3 would directly interconnect with Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness all but confirming yet another crossover there. We’ve assumed for months that this was going to be the MCU film in the second deal given that the productions are close to each other and that Benedict Cumberbatch is confirmed to appear in Spider-Man 3.

It was also announced that Jon Watts will be directing their Fantastic Four reboot after tackling a trilogy of Spider-Man films (second feature film reboot of the hero) and since Spider-Man debuted in the pages of Fantastic Four it wouldn’t terribly shocking if they attempt to at least get a cameo from Peter Parker in there.

A Spider-Woman film is reportedly in the works at Sony Pictures from director Olivia Wilde, which would likely feature Jessica Drew, a character that Marvel Studios is said to have access to as she debuted outside of the Spider-Man comic books having more ties to MCU groups such as S.H.I.E.L.D., HYDRA, S.W.O.R.D., and the Avengers. She also plays a role in the Secret Invasion (now a Disney+ series) as it’s revealed Drew is actually Skrull Queen Veranke and happens to be pals with Carol Danvers in the comics making a crossover into Captain Marvel 2 a strong possibility. While Marvel’s involvement is assumed by fans this has yet to be made official but it’s very likely.

There has been some rumblings that Kraven will appear in Spider-Man 3, but this has yet to be officially confirmed by either trades or Marvel themselves. A solo feature film directed by J.C. Chandor (Triple Frontier, A Most Violent Year) has been in the works for some time and if Kraven does appear in Spider-Man 3 might suggest that his solo film might be considered part of the MCU. It’s worth pointing out that Kraven’s development has been taking place even before the Spider-Man 3 drama. At one point, there had been talk that Spider-Man would show up in the film.

Other Marvel projects in the works at Sony include a Madame Web movie from S.J. Clarkson, a Jackpot movie, and a live-action Silk series. They had also once been developing a Sinister Six film with Drew Goddard before the Holland reboot, it’s looking very likely that the group of villains may cameo in the next Spidey pic.

In theory, if there is an extension it could mean that Marvel gets to make Spider-Man 4 along with possibly adding him in future films like Avengers 5 or Fantastic Four. With the reasons given Marvel could put their tentacles into things like Sony’s Spider-Woman and other spinoffs.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see if this will be Tom Holland’s send-off or if Marvel will double-down on his incarnation of Spider-Man.

‘Hawkeye’: First Look At Kate Bishop’s Superhero Costume Via Set Photos

Set photos from the NYC set of Marvel’s upcoming series Hawkeye have made their way online and gives fans their first look at Kate Bishop’s superhero costume. You can check out the latest set photos with Hailee Steinfeld’s Bishop all suited-up alongside Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton.

The rest of the cast includes Florence Pugh confirmed to reprise the Black Widow role of Yelena Belova, Alaqua Cox is Maya Lopez aka Echo, Vera Farmiga is playing Kate Bishop’s mother Eleanor, Fra Fee is playing Kazi aka Clown, Tony Dalton is playing Jack Duquesne aka Swordsman, and Zahn McClarnon is playing William Lopez (Maya’s father).

Previous set photos suggested the series will take place around 2025, well after the events of Avengers: Endgame. However, we could still see flashbacks to Barton’s dark patch as Ronin between Infinity War and Endgame.

Hawkeye is part of the first wave of live-action Marvel shows at Disney+ that also includes WandaVision, The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, Loki, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and another show will reportedly focused on Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.

According to Deadline, Disney is going to announce new Marvel Studios projects this week at their Investor Day 2020 event, which could include some updates on when they plan on releasing upcoming projects on Disney+ along with new movies.

Marvel’s ‘Hawkeye’ Series Shooting Footage In Brooklyn Next Week – Unknown If Cast Will Be Involved

The Verge’s Chris Welch has posted a photo of a local production notice on his Twitter account confirming something for the upcoming Hawkeye series (working title Anchor Point) will be shooting in Brooklyn on December 2nd along with a list of the areas they’ll be filming.

It’s possibly some exterior scenes like was done recently with Spider-Man 3 and it’s unknown if any cast members will actually be involved as the main shoot for the series is taking place in Atlanta, Georgia. Flying in actors doesn’t seem terribly necessary given the status of the pandemic. It’s worth mentioning that Shang-Chi had also shot stuff in San Francisco without their main cast.

Keeping the cast in as few locations would be in their best interest to avoid exposure to COVID-19 during the shoot. Given the technology available to these Marvel Studios shows they could simply film their surroundings then add actors later in the post-production stage.

We’re still waiting on if actress Hailee Steinfeld will be confirmed to play Kate Bishop or another yet-to-be-named actress has signed on to play Clint Barton’s protege. Hopefully, we start getting some new casting information concerning the series soon along with confirmations concerning the high-volume of character rumors that have been circulating.

However, this would yet again confirm that Hawkeye is next up with She-Hulk expected to be the next Atlanta series and will start-up sometime in March.

Xochitl Gomez Reportedly Joins ‘Doctor Strange’ Sequel – Is She Playing America Chavez?

Deadline has revealed that young actress Xochitl Gomez has landed an undisclosed role in Marvel’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness. The newcomer is likely best known for her role in the Netflix series revival of The Baby-Sitters Club.

Considering there has been rumblings of America Chavez aka Miss America being a supporting lead role (via casting grids/audition tapes) in the film having Gomez be the first new cast member announced for the sequel, this would suggest that Xochitl has landed the role of Miss America.

Chavez like Hawkeye’s Kate Bishop and Ms. Marvel’s Kamala Khan is a member of the Young Avengers.

Xochitl will join previously confirmed cast members Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Winstead, Benefict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi had replaced Scott Derrickson on the film.

The Ronin had confirmed that Logan and X-Men: First Class cinematographer John Mathiesonhas joined Raimi’s production team. Filming is also set to take place under the working title Stellar Vortex at Longcross Studios in Surrey, England.

There is an assumption that both Disney+ shows WandaVision and Loki could plant seeds for the events/characters in Doctor Strange 2. Not to mention that Doctor Strange’s Benedict Cumberbatch is reportedly showing up in Jon Watts’ Spider-Man 3 alongside Tom Holland which is currently slated to be released a few months before Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness.

Former director Scott Derrickson had previously mentioned on social media that both Doctor Strange supporting characters Brother Voodoo and Clea could show up in the film as well. This has yet to be confirmed officially with casting announcements.

Marvel has given the film a release date of March 25th, 2022.
