‘Spider-Man 3’ Cast Shares First Look Images & Three Possible Jokes Titles – Tom Holland Stays Mum On Jimmy Fallon

While they posted very real first look images from Spider-Man 3 on their Instagram accounts, the trio of cast members included what looked to be joke titles for the third installment which included Spider-Man: Phone Home (from Tom Holland), Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker (from Jacob Batalon), and Spider-Man: Home Slice (from Zendaya).

We still don’t know if any of the three titles are even real as Tom Holland didn’t elaborate on his late night appearance.

Despite fans hoping that Tom Holland would make an announcement concerning bringing back former Spider-Man actors or reveal the true title, the Spidey actor didn’t blab or say too much outside revealing he’s read the full script “from beginning to the end” while speaking with late night host Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

Holland is doubling-down on previous statements that if they are in the film Marvel Studios hasn’t shared the information with him, but in the new interview with Fallon adding that he’s read the entire script.

You can watch that exchange below.

Spider-Man 3 is still filming in Atlanta with a release date of December 17th set by Sony Pictures.

‘Star Wars’ Actress Daisy Ridley Reacts To ‘Spider-Woman’ Fancast & Is Loving ‘WandaVision’ – “I Would Love To Play Spider-Woman”

A while back it was revealed that director Olivia Wilde was hired by Sony Pictures to develop a new Marvel film, which was reportedly going to be a Spider-Woman film. This could mean that Marvel and Sony could be working together again as the main version of the character is a S.W.O.R.D. Agent and originates outside of the Spider-Man comics, clearly allowed to be used by Marvel.

We still haven’t got clarity officially from Sony if it will indeed be Spider-Woman or if Marvel will be involved like with their Spider-Man movies. If they were working on it this would mean it would be automatically part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe while stuff like Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Kraven The Hunter are seemingly in Sony’s own spinoff universe. Morbius’ trailer hinting a direct connection with Spider-Man: Homecoming as it featured Michael Keaton’s Vulture.

There has been a growing call to have Star Wars alumni Daisy Ridley in the role of Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman. Her co-star Oscar Isaac recently joined the MCU nabbing the Marc Spector role for the upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight.

Sariah Wilson has now spoke with Ridley and dished about that conversations on Twitter when the subject of the fancasting for Marvel heroine Spider-Woman came-up. She didn’t seem to know about it but seemed game while curious if it was part of the MCU or some off-shoot.

Ridley also revealed she is watching Marvel’s WandaVision and is loving it.

This is hardly evidence that any real talks have actually happened or are currently taking place, but Wilson seemed to finally put Spider-Woman on Daisy’s radar after outcry from her fans to take the superhero role.

I’m still waiting on Sony Pictures to release more details on the Olivia Wilde film.

‘Spider-Man’ Composer Danny Elfman Confirms He Is Scoring Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness’

Composer Danny Elfman has confirmed to Inverse that he’ll be reuniting with Sam Raimi for Marvel’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness. The pair worked together on the original Spider-Man trilogy and Elfman isn’t a stranger to the MCU scoring Avengers: Age of Ultron.

ELFMAN: “I am starting to do bits of pre-work for Doctor Strange 2 that Sam Raimi’s directing. Even though I don’t start it for some months, there’s bits of recorded music they need for the sets.”

Raimi took over directing duties from Scott Derrickson after he exited over creative differences.

Benedict Cumberbatch will be appearing in Spider-Man 3 and in all likelihood we will see Tom Holland’s Peter Parker show up in the Doctor Strange sequel.

The sequel will also co-star Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff and there has been confirmation from Marvel that the series WandaVision connects to it.

It was confirmed in December that America Chavez will be played by Xochitl Gomez.

The Ronin was able to previously confirm the sequel’s production team will also include cinematographer John Mathieson (Logan, X-Men: First Class) and production designer Charles Wood (Black Widow, Avengers: Endgame).

Filming is underway at Longcross Studios in Surrey, England.

Tom Holland Denies Rumors ‘Spider-Man 3’ Will Feature Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield – “They Will Not Be Appearing In This Film”

Despite rampart rumors for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 that included unconfirmed rumblings that former Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would be reprising their roles in a Spider-Verse-type event film, actor Tom Holland is denying that is happening.

In a recent interview with Esquire posted this week, the young actor while promoting his crime drama Cherry states that he’s unaware of Tobey and Andrew being involved with the project. The outlet noting the disappointment in his voice while delivering the bad news.

This particular Spider-Man installment has been subject to a host of rumors about casting decisions. When we talk in December, several outlets are reporting that Holland’s forebears, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, will appear alongside him in some kind of ultimate Spider-verse moment. When I ask Holland about this possibility, he is suddenly positive he knows what he’s talking about.

“No, no, they will not be appearing in this film. Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. But as of yet, no. It’ll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we’ve been making.”

While Holland could be lying here, none of the trades who have been actively covering the casting of the Spider-Man sequel have corroborated the rumors of their involvement. Even unconfirmed rumblings they’ve been spotted on set, however, no photographic proof of that has materialized. Tom Holland would be the first person to tell you that he can’t keep a secret as his persona is that of someone who inadvertently spoils things.

Holland also said they’re about eight weeks into the production and still have much more to go.

What we do know about the film is that Benedict Cumberbatch will be appearing as Doctor Strange with former franchise actors Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina reprising their roles as Spider-Man villains Electro and Doctor Octopus.

It’s possible we might end up with a version of The Sinister Six though.

Sony Pictures has given the film a release date of December 17th, 2021 but that might be moved if they need to find a new spot for Venom sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage, as the studio might bump it’s July release to another date.

‘Spider-Man 3’: Dane DeHaan Debunks Rumor of His Return As Green Goblin – “No Truth To Those Rumors”

While there is confirmation that Jamie Foxx is returning as Electro and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, many of the high-volume casting rumors circulating online have yet to be made official or even supported by trades. Kevin Feige event commented on the amount of rumors suggesting during WandaVision promotion that a bunch of them were “way off the mark”.

That said, there is now word from Amazing Spider-Man 2 actor Dane DeHaan while speaking with the Radio Times that there is zero truth to the rumblings he is coming back as Harry Osborn aka Green Goblin.

DEHAAN: “There’s no truth to those rumors. I don’t even know how that would be pulled off. I would certainly love to make some kind of movie like that again. I like making superhero movies or in that kind of world and I’m sure I’ll find myself in that world again. And I have no idea what they’re doing with the Spider-Man movies now, but I don’t really understand a world in which that would be possible.”

Filming is still underway using the working title The November Project in Atlanta and Sony’s promised “December surprise/reveal” never materialized.

We already know that the film is directly connect to Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness with Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Doctor Strange and would lead us to believe that Tom Holland could have a role as Spidey in that sequel as well, given both projects are shooting at the same time the two films have strong ties seems like a foregone conclusion.

Spider-Man 3 is set for a release on December 17th, 2021 but with multiple release date changes at Sony Pictures and other studios the film moving wouldn’t be shocking since it’s already move once before from July 2021 after there had been production delays. Fans seem to believe due to the holiday theme of film that the December release is an unmovable option, however, as previously mentioned it was originally going to be a summer release and the holiday aspect likely has zero barring when they’ll drop it in theaters.

The release date has been moved to October 8th after being set for March 19th previously.

It’s first teaser trailer revealed the interconnection with the solo Spider-Man films made by Marvel Studios as it featured Michael Keaton‘s Vulture in some sort of jailbreak scene. This has given fans hope that the character will indeed within the Marvel Cinematic Universe or at the very least, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

There is also an expectation that J.K. Simmon’s J. Jonah Jameson from Spider-Man: Far From Home will show up too thanks to previous comments made by the actor.

MORBIUS – One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as OscarÂŽ winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. ‘Spider-Man 3’: Kevin Feige Says Some Rumors “Couldn’t Be More Off The Mark”

Spider-Man 3 officially started shooting back in November under the working title of The November Project with director Jon Watts behind the camera and there have been waves of rumors concerning the project. Those rumors include it essentially becoming a Spider-Verse story, The Sinister Six looking like big villains of the film, the return of former Peter Parker actors, She-Hulk potentially being Peter’s lawyer, and most recently the big rumbling was Daredevil actor Charlie Cox returning.

Most of these rumors have yet to be confirmed in official circles or even by Marvel. While speaking with Comic Book, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige stated that some of the Spider-Man 3 speculations aren’t very accurate, given the volume of them it shouldn’t be a surprise.

FEIGE: “The fun thing about online speculation when it comes to our stuff is how sometimes it couldn’t be more off the mark and sometimes it’s shockingly close, and that’s held true for the last few years. But saying which is which would take all the fun out of everything.”

“The biggest clue is the title of the second Doctor Strange movie. That’s the biggest clue of where the Multiverse of Madness is taking us and how we’re exploring that.”

We can only further speculate which rumors Feige is talking about here.

Some things are officially known about the upcoming sequel as Kevin confirming that Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness is connected to it and this was signaled when Benedict Cumberbatch reportedly joined the character lineup. Both films shooting at the same time likely isn’t a coincidence.

We’re also going to see Jamie Foxx as Electro and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus stoking those Sinister Six expectations.

Spider-Man 3 will eventually get an official title and has been set for release on December 17th, 2021.

Patty Jenkins Would Hypothetically Want To Tackle Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man’ & ‘Black Widow’ If Given The Chance

If Patty Jenkins ever decided to tackle other superheroes beyond Wonder Woman, we now have a pretty good idea of who she’d want to use. As a fan on Twitter has asked Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins that very question and her answer consisted of Superman, Spider-Man, and even Black Widow.

JENKINS: “Thank you for the question. Probably Superman, Spiderman, or Black Widow! So much potential with all of them, always.”

You might remember that Patty Jenkins is currently assigned to direct Star Wars: Rogue Squadron for Lucasfilm making her part of that family of studios under the Disney umbrella. It’s expected to begin production sometime before the end of 2022 as the release date is set for December 22, 2023.

There are a handful of examples of crossovers between Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios with Thor franchise’s Taika Waititi tackling both The Mandalorian and an untitled live-action feature film. Also, Ant-Man trilogy director Peyton Reed ended up directing two episodes in Season 2 even the emotional season finale. We can’t forget that Jon Favreau, who help usher-in the Marvel Cinematic Universe via Iron Man and Iron Man 2, spearheaded The Mandalorian series with Dave Filoni, producing three spinoffs that include The Book of Boba FettAhsoka, and Rangers of The New Republic. Jon also continues to play the role of Happy Hogun, most recently appearing in the post-Avengers: Endgame film Spider-Man: Far From Home back in 2019.

Despite rumors, there hasn’t been any official word of how Warner Bros. would like to pursue another Superman film beyond having the character potentially have cameos in other projects. There had been development on a Supergirl film but that seemingly has stalled.

Concerning Spider-Man, we don’t know if Sony/Marvel will extend their production deal despite some signals that could be happening behind closed doors as Olivia Wilde‘s Spider-Woman movie could be Sony/Marvel co-production. With Spider-Man 3 director Jon Watts announced for Marvel’s Fantastic Four reboot there is now an expectation he could be moving on to make a trilogy there making it less likely he’d return to make Spider-Man 4 and beyond leaving room for a new director to make a second trilogy, that’s if Sony/Marvel can play nice for another batch of movies.

Having Patty get involved with Black Widow is an interesting proposition as it seems like Florence Pugh may end up taking that mantle as Yelena Belova in future MCU projects. Such as her reported involvement in the upcoming Hawkeye series that will be airing on Disney+ in late 2021. Yelena could lead a Black Widow franchise of films moving forward because of the death of Natasha during the events of Avengers: Endgame.

I think it’ll be a long time before we know for sure if Patty will make Wonder Woman 3 or any other superhero films given the next couple of years will be dedicated to Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.

‘Doctor Strange 2’: Production Designer Charles Wood Confirmed – Recently Worked On ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘Black Widow’

Filming on Marvel’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness (working title Stellar Vortex) has been underway at Longcross Studios in Surrey, England with Sam Raimi taking over the project after former director Scott Derrickson exited the film over “creative differences” with the studio.

The Ronin can now confirm that production designer Charles Wood is working on the Doctor Strange sequel. His credits are mostly Marvel Studios films such as the original Doctor Strange, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of The Galaxy, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and most recently with Scarlet Johansson’s Black Widow.

We previously reported that cinematographer John Mathieson (X-Men: First Class, Logan) is on the production team too.

The cast so far consists of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch, Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, and newcomer Xochitl Gomez.

It’s script was penned by Jade Halley Bartlett and Loki’s Michael Waldron.

As the title would suggest the film will explore the Multiverse with expected connections to WandaVision, Loki, and possibly even Spider-Man 3.

Disney has given Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness a tentative release date of March 25th, 2022.

‘Spider-Man 3’: Alfred Molina’s Return As Doctor Octopus Now Confirmed – The Sinister Six Are Seemingly Being Assembled

Last month, GWW reported that Spider-Man 2 actor Alfred Molina was spotted on the set of Spider-Man 3 sparking the rumor that he’d be returning to the role of Doctor Otto Octavius aka Doctor Octopus.

A source within Disney/Marvel has informed GWW that Alfred Molina will be returning to the Spider-Man franchise to reprise his role as the famed Doctor Octopus. Plot details are of course scarce as they always are with the super secretive Marvel productions, but we were informed Molina arrived on set a bit ago to work on some stunt choreography and has started filming his scenes in the past couple weeks.

This news has now been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.

Alfred Molina is putting back on the metal arms and will reprise his role as the villainous Doctor Octopus, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

This is starting to feel like Marvel Studios is indeed assembling The Sinister Six as the villains of the film given that they’ve also brought back Jamie Foxx as the villain Electo and while this might seem like more confirmation of a Multiverse project. J.K. Simmons is another actor from the Sam Raimi era that seemingly has made the jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as seen returning to the role of J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but not back in the version from the original Raimi films.

One way for Marvel and Sony to simply use The Sinister Six without giving all six villains new origins and backstories is to bring back familiar faces that audiences already know as these characters. This is a neat way to bring back villains without too much of a heavy handed reboot of them, although, I personally believe Marvel may end up giving both Electro and Doctor Octopus character updates for the MCU. Even J. Jonah Jameson doesn’t seem his campy self and has certainly been altered to fit Marvel’s superhero universe as he looks to be more like an Alex Jones-type rather than an old timey newspaper man obsessed with Spider-Man photos.

Two other members could easily be Michael Keaton’s Vulture and Michael Mando’s Scorpion both could be part of the prison break suggested in the trailer for Jared Leto’s Morbius. Scorpion’s origin in the comics has a direct connection to J. Jonah Jameson but they’ve already established that he hates Spider-Man since he scared his face and sent him to prison.

Quentin Beck aka Mysterio faking his death also could be a possibly.

Its also worth pointing out that Sam Raimi is working on a Multiverse film with Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness (currently shooting at Longcross Studios) and Benedict Cumberbatch is reprising his role as Strange in Spider-Man 3, however, the scale of the superhero crossover isn’t known.

Spider-Man 3 is currently filming in Atlanta under the working title The November Project and is expected to swing into theaters on December 17th, 2021.
