TRAILER: ‘Hawkeye’ Series Is A Holiday Themed Two-Hander Releasing On November 24

It’s starting to look like the Hawkeye series is going to double as a holiday special, as Marvel Studios and Disney have dropped the first-look teaser trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld as his new protege, Kate Bishop.

The new series begins airing on November 24 on Disney+.

Disney+ and Marvel Studios invite you on an unexpected holiday getaway, unwrapping a brand-new teaser trailer and poster today for “Hawkeye,” a new series set in post-blip New York City. Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, “Hawkeye” also features Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez. Helmed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie, “Hawkeye” debuts exclusively on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.

Other live-action MCU shows on the horizon include Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, Secret Invasion, an Echo spinoff, a Wakanda series from Ryan Coogler, Armor Wars, Ironheart, Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday Special, an untitled Halloween Special, Season 2 of Loki, Season 2 of Ms. Marvel, and much much more.

‘Hawkeye’: Marvel Announces November 24 Debut On Disney+ & Shares First Look Image

Marvel Studios has announced that one of their upcoming live-action series, Hawkeye, will officially debut on Disney+ on November 24 (subsequent episodes airing on Wednesdays) alongside sharing a first look still from the show via Entertainment Weekly.

It’s only a matter of time before Marvel releases a teaser trailer for Hawkeye.

The show’s cast consists of Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton Ronin/Hawkeye, Hailee Steinfield as Kate Bishop, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez aka Echo. We’ll also see Florence Pugh return to the Yelena Belova role from Black Widow as teased at the end of the film.

Marvel Studios seems impressed enough with the show to already be moving forward with a spinoff show featuring the deaf Native-American character Maya Lopez aka Echo played by Alaqua Cox with Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen overseeing it. Echo first appeared in the Daredevil comic books and also took on the persona of Ronin, just like Clint Barton.

Daredevil actor Vincent D’Onofrio has seemingly hinted on social media to his return to the Kingpin role in the show, but this has yet to be made official.

Other live-action shows coming include Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Armor Wars, a Wakanda series from Ryan Coogler, and the aforementioned Echo spinoff.

Fans seem a bit nervous that Marvel hasn’t announced a spot for Ms. Marvel, but we shouldn’t be shocked if it lands a debut in September-October. Officially Loki and What If…? are landing Season 2 orders. Our own information points towards Ms. Marvel is getting a Season 2 at Disney+ as well.

We’re expecting a big MCU lineup reveal in the near future as there are wave of LLCs being established for unannounced projects. With D23 happening in November, there is a good chance Kevin Feige could reveal more series and films on the horizon.

‘Hawkeye’: Jeremy Renner Announces The Disney+ Series Has Wrapped Filming

While the series finale of The Falcon & The Winter Soldier will hit Disney+ this Friday, Marvel Studios has a wave of other live-action shows on the horizon this year. Next-up will be Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series on June 11, 2021 with Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye debuting in late 2021.

It looks like filming on the Hawkeye series has officially wrapped today, according a new social media post from Jeremy Renner’s Instagram account.

Production kicked-off last year in New York City before moving over to Marvel’s filming hub in Atlanta. This post feels like the actor saying goodbye to the Avenger role but we don’t know if Barton will be sticking around for future projects or if this series will the final stretch for Renner and Hawkeye. He first played Hawkeye in a small cameo for 2011’s Thor before taking a supporting role in The Avengers the following year.

Renner’s Clint Barton will be mentoring a young protege named Kate Bishop played by Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld (Dickinson, True Grit, Bumblebee). The heroine eventually joins the ranks of the Young Avengers, a potential new team in the MCU that is slowly being assembled which each new project.

While something like Loki is being lined-up to get multiple seasons it’s unclear if Hawkeye will be a one-off or not.

Other Disney+ shows officially on deck include She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Armor Wars, Secret Invasion, Ironheart, and a Black Panther/Wakanda series from Ryan Coogler.

As mentioned at the top, Hawkeye is expected to debut on Disney+ later this year and we should get some sort of trailer by the summer.

‘Hawkeye’: Marvel Series Officially Adds ‘Spotlight’ Actor Brian D’Arcy James

Another big casting score for Marvel Studios!

Brian D’Arcy James has officially joined the cast of Hawkeye according to Marvel Studios and Disney. He was part of the Best Picture Winner Spotlight that featured a stellar cast that happened to include many Marvel Cinematic Universe alumni such as Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci, and John Slattery.

Spotlight is a personal favorite and the drama is worth checking out if you haven’t already.

The news was announced as part of the Disney Investor Day event from last week and we have missed the casting tidbit in the shuffle.

Filming on the series has been taking place in NYC with mostly exterior shots featuring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld as Barton’s young protege Kate Bishop. The production will eventually move back down to Atlanta.

‘Hawkeye’: First Look At Kate Bishop’s Superhero Costume Via Set Photos

Set photos from the NYC set of Marvel’s upcoming series Hawkeye have made their way online and gives fans their first look at Kate Bishop’s superhero costume. You can check out the latest set photos with Hailee Steinfeld’s Bishop all suited-up alongside Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton.

The rest of the cast includes Florence Pugh confirmed to reprise the Black Widow role of Yelena Belova, Alaqua Cox is Maya Lopez aka Echo, Vera Farmiga is playing Kate Bishop’s mother Eleanor, Fra Fee is playing Kazi aka Clown, Tony Dalton is playing Jack Duquesne aka Swordsman, and Zahn McClarnon is playing William Lopez (Maya’s father).

Previous set photos suggested the series will take place around 2025, well after the events of Avengers: Endgame. However, we could still see flashbacks to Barton’s dark patch as Ronin between Infinity War and Endgame.

Hawkeye is part of the first wave of live-action Marvel shows at Disney+ that also includes WandaVision, The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, Loki, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and another show will reportedly focused on Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.

According to Deadline, Disney is going to announce new Marvel Studios projects this week at their Investor Day 2020 event, which could include some updates on when they plan on releasing upcoming projects on Disney+ along with new movies.

‘Hawkeye’: Series Taking Place Years After The Events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Filming on Marvel’s Hawkeye series began this week in NYC and there have been a few reveals including Lucky aka Pizza Dog. Another interesting group of set photos from the other day posted on HQ Celeb Corner reveals when the show could be taking place and it’s well after the events of Avengers: Endgame which took place in 2023.

A set dressing poster on a Chinatown set celebrates the Chinese New Year in 2025 (January 29th, 2025) , the year of the snake. This would allude to this scene being set around or after the Chinese New Year.

There had been some question if the series would be taking place after Thanos’ snap leading him down to the path of his violent vigilante persona Ronin or would be taking place post-Endgame. It looks like at least the scenes with Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop will be taking place in or around 2025, around two years after Avengers: Endgame.

We could still see flashbacks to Barton’s dark patch between Infinity War and Endgame.

The rest of the cast includes Florence Pugh confirmed to reprise the Black Widow role of Yelena Belova, Alaqua Cox is Maya Lopez aka Echo, Vera Farmiga is playing Kate Bishop’s mother Eleanor, Fra Fee is playing Kazi aka Clown, Tony Dalton is playing Jack Duquesne aka Swordsman, and Zahn McClarnon is playing William Lopez (Maya’s father).

If production stays on track without anymore hiccups it’s possible that it could begin airing on Disney+ before the end of 2021.

‘Hawkeye’: Vera Farmiga Is Set As Kate’s Mother and Fra Fee Playing Villain Clown – Florence Pugh Confirmed

Yesterday, was the official start of production on Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye series currently filming in New York City as Hailee Steinfeld was confirmed by set photos/footage in the role of Kate Bishop opposite of Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton aka Hawkeye.

Variety now reports Vera Farmiga, Florence Pugh, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox, and Zahn McClarnon have joined the series.

Here is a rundown of the characters they’ll be playing.

Alaqua Cox is Maya Lopez aka Echo

Vera Farmiga is playing Kate Bishop’s mother Eleanor

Fra Fee is playing Kazi (thought to be villain Clown)

Tony Dalton is playing Jack Duquesne (thought to be Barton mentor Swordsman)

Zahn McClarnon is playing William Lopez (Maya’s father)

The Direct first reported Pugh’s involvement and return as Black Widow’s Yelena Belova.

Baron Strucker’s son Andreas von Strucker also took on the Swordsman persona in Thunderbolts.

It’s more of an info dump than we had been expecting considering how long it took to confirm Hailee Steinfeld as trades had really done a serious update on the Kate Bishop casting in a while. It’s interesting to see if Hawkeye will be using elements of Thunderbolts and if there will be a connection to The Falcon & The Winter Soldier.

‘Hawkeye’: Hailee Steinfeld Finally Confirmed For Kate Bishop Role Thanks To New Set Video

Murphy’s Multiverse first had on set confirmation that Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit, Bumblebee, Dickinson) has taken the Kate Bishop role in Marvel’s Hawkeye series as they posted first set footage earlier today.

Now, a second video making it’s way on Twitter and Instagram has a much clearer look at Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner in the subway scene being shot in Brooklyn. Variety was first to report that Hailee was in the mix to play Clint Barton’s protege in the series who is likely to become part of the Young Avengers or a version of that team.

The Oscar nominated actress seemingly teased her involvement with a recent birthday post on Instagram that got rabid attention from fans.

UPDATE: Some high resolution photos are also on Twitter and HQ Celeb Corner as well.

Below you can see what is clearly Steinfeld alongside Renner.

The series is said to be based on the Matt Fraction run alongside villains from that comic and if they’re able to complete filming on schedule could be released before the end of 2021. Filming will return to Atlanta once the NYC shoot is completed.

We’re curious if we’ll end up seeing more cast announcements in the coming weeks as we only know about two cast members at the moment officially, despite the recent rumor of Florence Pugh joining them for an appearance as Yelena Belova.
