Marvel also revealed the official logo of James Gunn’s Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3 and it will be released on May 5, 2023.
Gunn has been a tad busy over the last two years directing The Suicide Squad and spearheading an HBO Max spinoff series Peacemaker starring John Cena. The filmmaker has stated that this is going to be his last installment in the Guardians franchise but has left the door open to make a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point.
Filming on the third Guardians movie is confirmed for a shoot in the United Kingdom and will be made alongside the live-action Holiday Special for Disney+.
A cast has yet to be announced but we have to assume we’ll see Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Vin Diesel as Groot, and possibly Zoe Salanda as Gamora. We still don’t have official confirmation on the plot or villains of the sequel.
The Guardians will appear next in Thor: Love & Thunder before their own movie.
