‘Gucci’: Jeremy Irons Joins Ridley Scott Crime Drama Starring Lady Gaga – Releasing November 24th, 2021

The Hollywood Reporter along with other outlets are reporting that veteran actor Jeremy Irons has taken a role in Ridley Scott’s next feature film Gucci, a true-crime drama based on novel The House of Gucci with Lady Gaga in the lead role of Patrizia Reggiani.

The fashion-focused true-crime drama, based on the book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed, will focus on the murder of fashion trailblazer Maurizio Gucci, with Gaga playing Patrizia Reggiani, Gucci’s ex-wife who was convicted of orchestrating his hit after he had an affair.

Irons has previously worked with Scott on the underrated film Kingdom of Heaven and most recently had a supporting role in HBO’s Watchmen series. Other actors zeroing-in on deals to appear include Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Jack Huston, and Reeve Carney.

Jeremy will play Rodolfo Gucci, the father of Adam Driver’s Maurizio Gucci.

Ridley Scott had only just wrapped on the period drama The Last Duel after the pandemic paused production that was taking place in France and Ireland.

Filming is expected to take place in Italy and MGM has set the release date for November 24th, 2021.

‘The Martian’ Production Designer Arthur Max Confirmed For Ridley Scott’s Thriller ‘Gucci’ – Stars Lady Gaga, Jared Leto, Adam Driver, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro

The Ronin can now confirm independently that veteran production designer Arthur Max will be reuniting with director Ridley Scott for his thriller Gucci. The MGM project stars Lady Gaga, Jared Leto, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jack Huston, Robert De Niro, and Reeve Carney according to a previous casting report from Deadline.

In the new film, Gaga will play Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, who was tried and convicted of orchestrating her ex-husband’s assassination on the steps of his office in 1995. Maurizio had two daughters with Reggiani, but he left her for another woman. She’d had a brain tumor removed, and her children blamed it for her actions; the media took a darker view of her during a sensationalized affair, depicting her as a hot-blooded woman scorned and dubbing her “Black Widow.” She was originally drew a sentence of 29 years.

Max’s credits include Gladiator, Se7en, The Martian, Robin Hood, Prometheus, American Gangster, Black Hawk Dowan, All The Money In The World, and worked on Ridley’s most recent film The Last Duel that recently has wrapped in Belfast after pausing for COVID-19.

Jared Leto’s Joker and Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke Returning For Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ – Will Be Part of Additional Photography

The additional photography of Zack Snyder’s Justice League for HBO Max will see two Batman rogues make a return.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Jared Leto will be reprising the Joker after previously playing him Suicide Squad and having his role reportedly scaled-down from the original version from David Ayer. Other actors mentioned returning include Ben Affleck as Batman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Amber Heard as Mera.

The Joker and Affleck’s Batman briefly tussled in a scene in Suicide Squad but never shot scenes for Justice League.

Collider also reports that Joe Manganiello will be reprising the role of Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke as well. He was briefly shown at the end of Justice League alongside Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor as a teaser for the Legion of Doom.

The extent of their return isn’t mentioned. However, this news of the inclusion of Leto’s Joker seems to reinforce the project is indeed moving beyond the edit he showed Warner Bros. brass before Joss Whedon was brought-on.

It seems like neither Henry Cavill or Gal Gadot will be part of the new filming.

Snyder’s Justice League instead of being a single film edit will be divided into four hour long segments similar to a miniseries format as confirmed by HBO Max, who is putting up the money.

Ridley Scott’s Drama ‘Gucci’ Adding Jared Leto, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, and Jack Huston

Director Ridley Scott still has to finish production on his period drama The Last Duel, but there is already exciting casting news about his Gucci drama at MGM Studios starring singer Lady Gaga.

Gaga will play Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, who was tried and convicted of orchestrating her ex-husband’s assassination on the steps of his office in 1995. She served 18 years before being let out of jail in 2016.

Deadline reports that Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Jack Huston and Reeve Carney are in-talks for various roles. An excellent group of actors if they can convince them to all sign-on.

Robert De Niro and Al Pacino recently worked together on Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, Robert is set to reunite with Martin alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in the thriller Killers of The Flower Moon.

Driver recently took over the Ben Affleck role in The Last Duel after Ben had scheduling issues.

The script was written by Roberto Bentivegna.

When production will begin on Gucci is a little unclear given that Scott has to complete The Last Duel and other actors will be busy with other projects.

Jared Leto Confirms Lead Role In Disney’s ‘Tron 3’ aka ‘Tron: Ares’ – ‘Mulan’ Actress Liu Yifei Being Eyed?

Yesterday, we learned from Deadline that Lion director Garth Davis has been hired by Disney to direct their third Tron film with Jared Leto attached to star.

The outlet was quick to point out they’re still only in development stages.

Leto took to Twitter to confirm his involvement seemingly announcing that the film’s title is indeed Tron: Ares, before deleting the post and replacing it with another one without mentioning Ares

Also, Daniel Richtman got his hands on a casting grid for the film confirming the title Leto posted and mentions that Disney is interested in casting Mulan actress Liu Yifei in the lead female role. This doesn’t mean the actress is a lock but is a good sign they want to hire an Asian actress opposite Jared in the new film.

What doesn’t seem to be clear is if the film will be a direct sequel to Tron: Legacy or a soft-reboot as they don’t seem to be interested in having actors return such as Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, and Cillian Murphy as they haven’t been mentioned since Leto’s involvement in 2017.

However, composers Daft Punk are being courted by Disney for a return after tackling the score for Legacy.

TRON: LEGACY – Sam (Garrett Hedlund), the son of famous video-game developer Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), has been haunted for a long time by his father’s mysterious disappearance. A strange signal draws Sam to Flynn’s Arcade, and he is pulled into the same cyberworld in which his father, its creator, has been trapped for 20 years. With fearless warrior Quorra (Olivia Wilde), Kevin and Sam seek to escape from a universe that, while magnificent, is far more advanced and dangerous than Kevin had ever imagined.

Disney Reportedly Picks Garth Davis To Direct ‘Tron 3’ – Jared Leto Still Attached To Star

A while ago there was an update of sorts from The DisInsider that Disney was still keen on a new Tron movie and a Disney music producer suggesting they’ve already reached out to Daft Punk to return to score the next film.

Well, Deadline is now reporting that the project has Lion director Garth Davis attached with Oscar-winner Jared Leto still involved taking the lead role.

The film’s script will be penned by Jesse Wigutow while there has been rumors of the film being a continuation. However, it previously was going to be a reboot of sorts when originally announced by the trades back in 2017.

It’s worth noting that even Deadline doesn’t say the film has been given the greenlight by Disney and is 100% that it will actually happen given that it is still only in development stages.

Jared Leto Wants To Return To The World of ‘Blade Runner 2049’ With An Origin Story For Villain Niander Wallace

Last week, actor Jared Leto took to Twitter suggesting that he’d like to return to the role of Niander Wallace, the overreaching villain of Blade Runner 2049. He seems to want to tackle an origin story about Wallace.

LETO: “Maybe we can do a Niander Wallace origin story one day. Would be interesting to see where this mad man came from. He must have had some history. I have some ideas…”

Wallace’s fate is unknown at the end of the film has he zipped off-world in a ship to one of the many human colonies. The villain is behind the latest version of the disposable workforce with his version of the Replicants.

Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve has teased in the past he’d like to return to the world of Blade Runner as well, but suggested he wouldn’t be interested in making another sequel.

Blade Runner live-action series might not be out of the realm of possibilities as Villeneuve is producing and expected to direct the pilot for the Dune spinoff series for HBO Max titled Dune: The Sisterhood and there is already an animated series set in the universe of Blade Runner coming soon with Blade Runner: Black Lotus.

Daft Punk Approached By Producers To Score ‘Tron 3’

After yesterday’s report from the DisInsider that Tron 3 starring Oscar-winner Jared Leto (Morbius, Suicide Squad) is potentially getting a second wind at Disney. The report was supported today by The Playlist, who cite their own sources on the matter that Disney is indeed keen on pushing forward with a third film and has been shopping it around to various directors.

The Playlist also cites a June episode of a podcast called Light The Fuse that spoke with Disney’s Mitchell Lieb (President of Music & Soundtracks) revealing that that producers have already approached Daft Punk about returning to score the film and they indeed have a script ready to go.

LIEB: “We’re looking at making a Tron 3. We’ve got a great script. A really phenomenal script that we’re very excited about. Whereas the timing wasn’t right to do it years ago, I think we feel the timing is right, now. We learned a lot of lessons from [Tron: Legacy].

“The right and first thing to do is to bring Daft Punk back and see if they want to [return]…We don’t even know who will be directing yet. We’re hopeful that Joe Kosinski will come back and do another one…A lot of things gotta fall into the right places…”

Their soundtrack on Tron: Legacy was pretty much the highlight of the marketing campaign and the film itself.

What seems to be up to debate at the moment is if the film will be a direct sequel, hard-reboot, or soft-reboot/continuation of the existing mythology established in the first two films. While fans would obviously like to see the studio continue Joseph Kosinski’s vision, it’s unlikely.
